Woodfuel

Woodchip is produced as woodfuel in accordance with European Standards (ONORM M7 133 and DIN66 165). We concentrate on supplying chip of the right size and moisture content to suit each individual user’s heating system. Chip size and quality are carefully monitored and moisture content checked using a specialist moisture meter.

We hold stocks of timber seasoning and ready to be chipped. Limited stocks of dry chip are usually available for emergency orders.

We recommend that new customers discuss their requirements well in advance so that suitable wood stocks can be reserved for their use.

Hampshire Woodchip is a member of South East Wood Fuels and has qualified under their training scheme to supply woodfuel to SEWF customers.

We can also arrange supplies of wood pellets through South East Wood Fuels.

Equestrian and other Surfacing

Woodchip provides an excellent temporary surfacing. It is particularly suitable for vehicle crossing points on racecourses and event courses. Patches of hard or soft going can be improved with the addition of woodchip to overcome temporary problems.

Muddy gateways and pedestrian routes can be made passable for show and other event traffic. Woodchip is easily handled and a flexible tool for event organisers.

Surfacing the rootplate areas around mature trees within show sites is recommended to reduce compaction and resultant damage to the trees.

Mulch

Woodchip provides an attractive mulch for use in gardens or landscape planting schemes.
